The participants received a warm welcome from ZNU rector Mykola Frolov, who informed them about ZNU strategies aimed at developing young researchers’ potential, supporting their academic community integration, improving PhD training courses, introducing academic honesty standards and, all in all, at turning ZNU into a European regional university.
Doctor of Pedagogy, professor of the Chair of Modern Ukrainian History Sergiy Terno gave a good start to academic part of the School with his lecture entitled “Is Critical Thinking a Stradivarius of Comprehension?” Dr. Terno, whose online course on Critical Thinking is available on Prometheus distant education platform, told his audience about various approached to education philosophy and different types of thinking. The Summer School program was full of trainings, workshops and discussions. Such topics as Research Ethics (coach Volodymyr Bakhrushin), Anti-Plagiarism Software (coach Andrii Sidlyarenko), Strategic Management (Kateryna Sirinyok), Academic Writing (Volodymyr Sarabeev), Innovations Management (Victoria Meniailo), Academic Mobility and International Projects (Olena Tupakhina), Personal Development of a Researcher in Academic Community (Yuriy Kaganov) were covered by speakers.
