On December 19, in Zaporizhzhya National University the summarizing Scientific and Methodical Council was held. It was presided by Oleksandr Gura, Vice-Rector for Educational Research and Academic Affairs. During the meeting the council members discussed important issues concerning the methodological supply of the academic process in the university. Moreover, they summed up the year round activities of Scientific and Methodical Council as well as some questions to be solved by all the faculties in the upcoming year were outlined.
Besides Oleksandr Gura reported on the implementation of Jean Monnet Project “European Project Culture” in ZNU. One of the indicators of the project implementation is the elaboration of the training course “Basics of European Project Activities” which will be implemented in the ZNU curriculum next year. The course consists of 8 modules (120 teaching hours) and it aims at project activities popularization among undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates of ZNU. The key staff members of the project are Oleksandr Gura, Vice-Rector for Educational Research and Academic Affairs, Viktoriia Meniailo, Head of Scientific and Research Department , Yuriy Kaganov, Head of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Department, Nataliya Kovalenko, Head of Project Office, Natalia Kostenko, Volodimir Sarabeev, Olena Tupakhina, Lesia Zhurakovska , Associate Professors. At the end of the meeting Oleksandr Gura, Head of Scientific and Methodical Council, drew the council members’ attention to the innovations in the academic process in the upcoming year. In particular he proposed to include project activities as an alternative to research paper writing into the graduate curriculum. There was another proposition to implement “Days of Practical Work” as obligatory ones for all the faculties. “Days of Practical Work” will imply meetings with specialists, workshops, professional trainings etc. Besides, Oleksandr Gura offered to present all the textbooks and manuals recommended to be published at Scientific and Methodical Council’s meetings. The council members discussed all the propositions. In the end they were wished to have wonderful season holidays and fruitful work next year.
