Since 1995 the conference “Problems of Economic Cybernetics” has been held almost annually. Participants are key scientists-economists of Ukraine from Kyiv, Donets’k, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovs’k, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivs’k, L’viv, Khmel’nitskyi, Ternopil who are concerned about increase of effectiveness of Ukrainian economics and its adapting to market conditions.
Major topics analyzed in the papers presented are the following: problems of transformational economics modelling and economic subject’s adapting, problems to determine economical risks and decision-making under conditions of uncertainty, predication models of economics development and working up of information technologies.
Distinguishing conference feature is its methodical orientation. Most of scientists lecture at the higher institutes of education. As it was noted in the address delivered by Yu.G. Professor Lysenko, the Head of Economic Cybernetics Section at the Scientific and Methodical Committee of Economical Education, Ministry of Economic Science and Education of Ukraine: “Market reformations have moved the key scientific potential in the area to the higher scientific institutions”. Thus, the scientists of higher scientific institutions are faced with two tasks: -
saving and developing of scientific potential of economic cybernetics,

training of highly qualified specialists for enterprises and establishments of ownership of any kind.
It is expected that discussion of plans and programs to train specialists and interaction of lectures of the higher school of Ukraine will facilitate the qualification increase of graduating economists.
The specialty of Economic Cybernetics is opened with about 50 higher institutions of Ukraine. It is proposed to students in four institutes in Zaporizhia: Zaporizhia State University, Zaporizhia State Engineering Academy, Zaporizhia Institute of Economics and Information Technologies and University of Humanities “Zaporizhia Institute of State and Municipal Management”.
Until now the conference was held in Donets’k, Mariupil, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Zhovti Vody of Dnipropetrovs’k Region. This year the honor to hold the conference has come to Zaporizhia.
