The 2017 AUCPC Ukraine Southern Contest took place on March, 25, 2017. This year 135 teams from 25 universities and academia of five southern Ukrainian regions have participated in the contest.
The participating regions of the south ofUkrainewere: AR Crimea, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia.

This is the first time when, courtesy of Livestream, at Zaporizhzhya National University a streaming video channel was established to translate the competition. Four MEVO™ cameras worked at four laboratories and broadcasted video on-line.

The contest for the south of Ukrainewas conducted with the help of e-judge system running atSumyStateUniversity - http://olymp.sumdu.edu.ua.

This year due to problems with the test server, we decided not to define absolute winners ofUkraineSouthern region.
The test server was mostly unavailable at the second half of the contest. Therefore, we asked team to solve tasks locally, at their working places in the laboratories, and then to store the solutions at a specific folder named with login name of the team. The contents of all the folders was then copied by the members of organizing committees at the sites, and manually entered into the test system after its performance was fully recovered.
As the recovery was made after the official contest finish, to avoid wrong penalty calculation, the members of organizing committees have made a collegiate decision on how to calculate penalties for correctly solved tasks that were loaded into the test system after the official contest finish. The author of the idea – Alexander Antonenko, coach, Odessa Mechnikov National University.
The formula uses data from the two standings available in the test system:
First – standings as at the official contest finish (6:11:50)
